Rapper 21 Savage is giving back in a big way, launching a free financial literacy program online to accommodate students in quarantine.
The nationwide program, called “Bank Account at Home”, is a multi-partner project helmed by 21’s Leading By Example Foundation that the rapper started back in 2018. Additional parties supporting this effort to instill fiscal competency and responsibility amongst our youth are Chime and EverFi, two mobile services that feature banking and technology-education.
21 acknowledged the current pandemic and its strain on the economy.
“…Now that times are hard as ever during this pandemic and so many families are affected across the country, I feel it’s more important than ever to give our next generation of leaders the tools to succeed in life.”21 Savage
Financial literacy resources are a primary focus of the program’s website. Learning the basics in areas of need such as money management, short and long-term investing, and entrepreneurship will help form the foundation to success for the upcoming generation.
As if his efforts weren’t enough, 21 Savage is also providing free WiFi and tablets to underserved students in his hometown of Atlanta. In a time of uncertainty and financial hardship for many, we should all use this as a source of inspiration to give back within our communities.
